This is me trying to explain which kind of ribbon I need Randy to pick up while he's at Walmart. He forgot it anyway. But the wrapping is over. Over!
And "the meal" was delicious. No more baking for the season: I made hundreds of peppermint meltaways, gingersnaps, and chocolate sandwich cookies for our neighbors. Done and done.
We visited the lights on a congested charming little cul-de-sac. Would you be thrilled when Christmas is over if you were these guys? Or glum, with the thought of winding up all those lights for next year? Do you wish Christmas lasted longer?
I kind of like the Christmas buzz, but I like it best when the list is complete. This week is really my favorite: the in-between time, before the new year starts and before the old year is really over. Time is on "pause," and I tend to turn inward, think a lot and materialize hopes for the year to come. My boys putter around, happy with new toys. The expectations are low and pleasant. Happy, happy. Merry, merry.

Made 4 batches of those meltaways, 2 of which were doubled. I'm hoping they live up to their name seeing as I ate 1 1/2 batches myself.
haha...we stole your meltaway recipe too! They were yummy...i'm not so sure they're going to live up to their name though, Vern, without a lot of effort on our part! heehee.... Merry Day After and enjoy this week. It's my favorite too!
