Over the years Randy performed with good friends, cast who became great friends, and Greg, his brother. Josh actually went to his first Divine Comedy show when he was six days old in the very auditorium pictured above. I was sure that newborn Josh recognized Randy's voice on stage. Now I think... maybe not.
The show was funny and super, duper clean. I felt like they were telling the same jokes that Divine Comedy has been performing for 17 years: Provo construction jokes, song parodies, dating at BYU stuff. With some fun random skits thrown in for good measure.
I never, ever thought that I would be able to take my kids to a DC show all these years later. Never. We talked to a DC spouse member before the show. She asked if it was all worth it. I smiled and said "Of course," without really thinking about it.
But the truth is, it really was. Aside from family, there is very little that means anything in the end. And I think the memories and friendships we formed during the Divine Comedy years really have meant something. Something important and irreplaceable. It was a pleasure to share it with our kids. They loved the glow sticks and the atmosphere. We loved sharing a glimpse of fun, past and future.
